It's only 2:00 in the afternoon and Irina has reminded us her birthday is tomorrow at least 100 times. (as if we could forget!) I think she's just a little excited! We are all (boys included) looking forward to creating special memories for her tomorrow. We had to get a photo of her on her last day as a ten year old.
I'll admit I'm looking forward to watching her open the presents we've carefully chosen for her. However, I also know we did not buy her everything she's been requesting for the past month. Traditionally, we buy each of the kids only three gifts on their birthdays and the boys made sure she knows this. ;) I do wonder how will she react to our gift choices? Will she even remember all the other things she asked for that we did not purchase? Maybe we will have to shepherd her through disappointment? We'll find out tomorrow. I hope and pray that she sees our gifts as an expression of our love for her and most importantly God's love for her.
Here are some fun Irina quotes from the day:
"Mommy, almost all done ten. Tomorrow Irina birthday!"
"Tonight, Irina sleeping. Mommy Daddy prize for Irina kitchen."
At noon today: "Mommy, almost night time?" Any idea why she is excited for it to be night time? The sooner night comes the sooner it will be morning! Please pray that she sleeps tonight. Ha!
I hope she had a wonderful day! Happy Birthday, Irina!
