Last Day

Friday, May 27th marked the last day of our official school year. More then 180+ school days completed and our curriculum complete. Phew! There are many reasons why I love homeschooling, but I have to say that I'm depleted and so ready for a rest.

The tables were turned when it comes to celebrating the end of the school year this year. I had no special end of school year plans besides a few treats and a sign. However, thanks to a very dear friend the kids had plans for ME!!
My friend Jessica did some scheming with the kids unbeknownst to me. She worked it out to take the kids shopping to get me a "teacher" gift. Then coached them to make me a special breakfast on our last day. I wish I could say I had no idea there was something going on. ;) Thankfully, they aren't that sneaky yet and I tried to pretend I was clueless to some kind of plan. This beautiful plant appeared last Friday morning, as well as this special breakfast spread, cards, and a gift. (pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and a hard boiled egg)
We are ready for summer 2016!
Hooray!

May Days

How is May over already??
Daddy surprised us with groupon tickets to an amusement park one day after school.
Beautiful weather, but way more crowded then we thought it would be on a school day.
As is becoming the routine, we spent some of our time at the park split up.
Darin and Ethan ride the big coasters. The rest of us do the less intimidating coasters and rides.
Ethan and Aaron were having fun with the letters in their room. HA!
Lots of rain, means the few sunny days are great for mud play.

Love, love, love to see him choosing to read for fun.
Ready or not, June is here!
