It has been fun to see our little butterfly learn more and more English words. She's always surprising us with something new. PLEASE don't be tempted to talk about her when she is around assuming that she doesn't understand. She understands quite a bit and is quick to pick up when people are talking about her. She is a one smart cookie! :)
Here is a list of some words/phrases she says (in no particular order):
1) Mommy, Mom, Mama
2) Daddy
3) Luke, Ethan, Aaron
4) No
5) excuse me
6) I'm sorry
7) bike
8) bye bye
9) hi
10) telephone
11) flower
12) cheese
13) skip (from Uno)
14) red
15) blue
16) pink
17) green
18) boots
19) moon
20) goodnight
21) sleeping
22) dog
23) cat
24) bus
25) fish

29) fork
30) fan
31) push please (on the swings)

33) monkey
34) mayonaise (what?!? This is not a staple in our diet, but boy does she ask for it!)
35) Jesus Loves Me (she asks me to sing this to her every night at bedtime)
Oh, and she has all our extended family names memorized because she daily studies our photo albums and identifies every family member by name.
We had the opportunity this weekend to Skype with her best friend Polina from Ukraine who is now living in Massachusetts. (She arrived in America at the end of September.) The girls were so excited, but it took them a little while to find their Russian conversation voice. Polina has a couple months head start speaking English and is speaking really well. She started speaking in English to Irina. Finally, they got busy chattering away in Russian. It was hard for them to say goodbye. Very sweet friends. Thankful for technology!
